Twilight Cricket

Manawatu Cricket is running upcoming Twilight Cricket Competitions - There are 11-a-side and 8-a-side competitions. These are a great way to have fun with friends and family, or for winter sports teams to stay together over the summer. This is just to let anyone know who may be interested to get in touch with me for more info (dont worry, ultimate still reigns supreme)

Team MUCOUS 08

The End of Season Novel.

well where do i start!
first of all well done to everyone and thank you for such a wicked
weekend, and from what i did see everyone played at or above their
usual ability and more importantly enjoyed themselves (or at least
most of the time..) And for those of you for whom it was your first
nats then welcome to what its all about!. I appologise for leaving
early on sunday as my health wasnt up to it, however a series of
treatments this week should have me set (albeit temporarily) for
saturday where we can talk about it properly! and ill also squeeze in
the opportunity so say thanks for the card guys and thanks for being
so wicked to work with this year. Ive been debilitated a lot
throughout the season but we got there in the end and even if i had to
miss every 2nd game or training to illness, i loved every minute.

HAVE A GO DAY
And just when you thought it was over... I need a few volunteers to
represent ultimate at the massey have a go day this saturday. this is
an afternoon put together by musa to show the local public whats
available at massey (other than lectures and exams) and is the first
time its being held. unfortunately as i took last weekend off work i
cant get the day off, but if a few of you are keen it will be for
about an hour between 1 and 3pm, and theres free pizza in it for you..
let me know if your interested (all welcome).

BREAK UP BBQ
As the weathers starting to behave i figure what better way to
celebrate surviving the year than a bbq, for our end of year shindig
(just expect a bit more burnt food than at kentas place last year!). check the email for the gameplan for saturday Bring some food for the bbq and
something to wash it down with, yes you know what i mean! does anyone
have any good convoy music we could borrow?

have a wicked week guys and see you on saturday
peace out,
g-unit

Natioansl Tournament Shindig

The tourney party is on at the Brewers Apprentice (which used to be the Fat Ladies Arms) Cnr Church and Linton Sts in the middle of town. The Theme (decided by our resident party animal MORK) is USA or anything Red White or Blue. Hang out there from 8pm and watch the rugby at 10pm if you’re keen.

Indoor Nationals!!

Hey guys,
well believe it or not but nationals is upon us, in only 2 days time! so heres a run down of everything you know - please read this email carefully and for those of you not in the nationals, youre welcome to get the details for it here and come down and watch/support our teams. let me know if you need aride to the venue too, which is the pascal street arena manawatu (where we play on sundays)

TIMETABLE
the final draw is being done today/tonight so i wont confuse you by attaching one here thats likely to change, but what i will tell you is that both mucous teams (b grade) will be starting at 9. and as captains have to bethere by 8.40 i suggest we all try to make it by 8.40 to get warmed up/amped (after all this is nationals!). Games will last for 35 mins,. A grade starts later but if you can make it at this time to support us then great.

9.00am
MUCOUS 2: vs christchurch b
MUCOUS 1: duty courts 6-9

LUNCHES
As you should be aware we can only assist in this on saturday and not friday. this takes place straight after the games, so on saturday at 5.20 we are to head over to the church hall opposite the b and m centre (where sunday games are held)

A FEW RULES
Just want to stress a couple of things so they're well understood by the time we head onto the court, as tournaments as most of you will know are played slightly different and with more emphasis on rules than city league/playing-at-the-beach-with-your-mates games.

- only 1 A grade player on a B grade court at a time (these players are yang, hamish, peggy, liz, gareth)
- when throwing in from an out keep your pivot foot on the line!
- do not pick the disc up to give it to someone else (this is important), only pick it up if your the one throwing it. if in doubt leave it
- be careful of travel, ie, moving your pivot foot. even an inch could get you called up. dont be scared to call a foul also
- remember the spirit of the game! ultimate is all about this so respect your opposition and youll get it right back

This is going to be a wicked weekend so bring your wicked attitude along and i guaruntee you'll love it. And remember to bring a water bottle, snacks (mmm chocolate...), and a camera if youd like.

And of course, welcome back kenta!!

see you all on saturday
peace

Lunch Making For Nats - SATURDAY NIGHT

your lunch making skills are required on the evening of saturday sep 13th during nationals - as IPC are doing it friday night. I understand seom of you may not be able to make it, however you are all paying less than the other teams for entry into the nationals because of this so please consider that when youre making your plans for sat night. besides, what better way to spend the evening than making sandwiches (hey its what i do pretty much every evening anyway).

peace,
gareth
